Ongoing challenges, including Iran’s nuclear program; Saudi-Israeli normalization; rapid population growth; conflict and upheaval in Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Libya, and Afghanistan; and a changing climate are shaking geopolitics far beyond these sun-scorched lands.
